Neurochemical Aftermath of Repetitive Mild Traumatic Brain Injury

Report published on JAMA Neurology showing that increased cerebrospinal fluid neurofilament light proteins and reduced amyloid β were observed in patients with postconcussion syndrome (PCS).



They suggest the measurement of these biomarkers may be an objective tool to assess the degree of central nervous system injury in individuals with PCS and to distinguish individuals who are at risk of developing chronic traumatic encephalopathy.
