In April 2015, Cudmore suffered a concussion in the hard-fought Champions Cup semi-final victory over Saracens. He was assessed by medics but deemed fit to play on.

Two weeks later and he suffered another concussion, early in the final against Toulon. He staggered back to the dressing room, vomited and yet was somehow allowed to go back and play. Clermont lost and he was in a complete, absolute daze."
