John Barclay on recovery from concussion "a flaw in the system"

Interesting article on BBC about John Barclays recovery from the recent concussion he suffered whilst playing for Scarlets against Edinburgh.



Reckons he was only out for 10-15 seconds, but essentially felt fine.  It was however the Tuesday after the Saturday match before he started to feel dizzy.  He was subsequently out for 6 weeks.

So whilst the system has worked in his case, Barclay makes the comment there's "a flaw in the system", as in his case, he passed all the cognitive tests, so he could have told the medics he was symptom free and been allowed to play much earlier.
